This is a monthly virtual meeting for DHHC members. Each month, a member presents on a topic of their choice, sharing their expertise with the group. Past conversations have included case studies, experiential sharing, and roundtable discussions around a topic, all followed by Q&A and organic conversation. Build collaborative relationships, grow your referral network, and learn about adjacent practitioners!
Hey there fellow human! I am a body-centered mental health counselor in private practice in Denver. I guide individuals in building deeper connections to themselves to access more “umph!” and a richer sense of aliveness. I bring warm acceptance, curiosity, and playfulness to my work as a therapist. I hold an MA in Somatic Counseling from Naropa University and draw upon the work of my mentor Julie Colwell, founder of the Evolutionary Power Institute, in my work with clients.
My work includes these three main pillars:
Somatic and mindfulness practices: Building capacity for body awareness and connection via breathwork, grounding/containment, resourcing, movement, vocalizing, self-touch and visualizations.
Parts work: Getting to know the aspects of our personalities that show up as coping strategies. Learn to connect with the brilliance of your inner self to move past the old patterns that are keeping you stuck.
Relational foundation: Showing up in relationships as who we really are can be amazingly empowering and it can sometimes feel impossible. Get support in navigating through disconnection, power struggles, and overwhelm to discover the nourishment that deep relationships hold.
In addition to being a therapist, I’m also a movement analyst (Laban/Batrinieff) and yoga instructor with 10 years of experience. I’ve taught in numerous 200-hour yoga teacher trainings leading experiential anatomy and trauma-informed yoga content. I’ve spent many years exploring my own inner landscape of what it means to be here in this body and it is an honor to guide others in navigating the complex and often messy territory of their bodies.
